UK-GERMANY EOS 5D/Hasselblad H1D housings (21-01-2006)

UK-GERMANY have released details of two new additions to their housing collection:

First, the UK-D-5D for the Canon EOS 5D. The UK-D-5D is a CNC machine drilled, aluminum housing, and oxide coated for seawater resistance.

Except for the depth of field preview button, all EOS 5D functions can be controlled through the housing. A back and top window give a view on all important information on the camera's displays.

Two connectors for strobes are present: an S6 at the left for e-TTL strobes, and a Nikonos III type at the right. A mount for a strobe arm is present at the left, an additional mount can be placed on the top. The right handle can be removed, and a stay can optionally be attached at the bottom side.

The housing is closed using latching buckles, and the memory card can be changed without removing the camera.
The housing uses the UK-Bajonett-System for a wide selection of ports and SLR lenses.

The UK-D-5D measures 190x165x120 mm (WxHxD, without handle), weighs around 1900 grams (without port) and has a maxium depth of 80 meters. Base price of the UK-D-5D is 2195 euro.

Second newcomer is the UK-D-H1D underwater housing for the Hasselblad H1D 22 megapixel digital SLR. The UK-D-H1D has the same durable construction as the UK-D-5D.

The inside of the housing is padded with soft cloth that protects the camera against shocks and absorbs moisture if necessary.

The housing can be fitted with two Nikonos V strobe shoes at the customers request. Two mounting points for strobe arms are present on the top.

The UK-D-H1D measures 230x190x200 mm (WxHxD, without handles), weighs around 3500 grams (without port) and has a maximum depth of 80 meters. Base price of the UK-D-H1D is 3950 euro.
