Olympus CWPC-02/03, PT-032/033 and PT-E02 (05-03-2006)Olympus has announced five new underwater housings that will hit the streets first half of 2006. An overview:
Olympus CWPC-02 and CWPC-03The outdoor cases CWPC-02 and CWPC-03 were specially developed for the new lifestyle cameras from Olympus: de Mju 700 (Stylus 710), FE-130 and FE-140. Completely waterproof up to a water pressure equivalent to 3 metres depth, they are ideal for outdoor activities and shooting under water. Moreover, they offer complete protection against dust, dirt, sand and moisture.
The CWPC-02 and CWPC-03 outdoor cases allow full operation of the camera and a clear view on the large monitor. Pricing of these housings is around $100 USD / 100 euro.
Olympus PT-032 and PT-033The PT-032 and PT-033 are underwater housings for the Mju 700 (Stylus 710) and Mju 720SW (Stylus 720SW) cameras. They are waterproof up to a water pressure equivalent to 40 m depth. All camera functions can be controlled and they have a screw mount for converter lenses and filters provided. The PT-032 and PT-033 will have a recommended retail price of around $200 USD / 200 euro.
Olympus PT-E02When the PT-E02 is used with the new Olympus E-330, it offers the first underwater live view function on a digital SLR through its 2.5” / 6.4cm LCD. It is waterproof up to a water pressure equivalent to a depth of 60 metres. With its durable, high quality polycarbonate construction, it protects the camera from water while also cushioning it from knocks and bumps on land. The TTL flash connector allows optional use of the Olympus FL-20 and FL-36 TTL flash with the PFL-01 and PFL-E01 flash housing. Optional interchangeable lens ports allow the optional use of 7-14mm, 8mm Fisheye, 14-45mm, 11-22 or 14-54mm and the 50mm Macro lens. The PT-E02 underwater housing is planned for release in the spring of 2006 and has an estimated street price of around $1200 USD / 1400 euro.
