New Olympus housings: PT-035/PT-036/PT-037/PT-038 (27-01-2007)Alongside the introduction of eight new cameras, four new underwater housings have been announced by Olympus.
The PT-035 housing is designed for the Mju(µ)/Stylus 770 SW, a compact camera that's waterproof to 10m, shockproof against falls to 1.5m and crushproof to an unbelievable 100kg. The PT-036 is for the Mju/Stylus 760, a 7.1 megapixel camera with Dual Image Stabilisation. The PT-037 is for the SP-550UZ, an 18x optical zoom camera. And finally the PT-038 for the FE-230, a very compact camera in a smart stainless metal body.
All housings are waterproof up to a water pressure equivalent to a depth of 40 metres. And are perfect for fascinating underwater photography or capturing the thrill of water sports and activities. With their durable, high quality polycarbonate construction, they protects the camera from water while also cushioning it from knocks and bumps on land.
Complete control of photo functions, such as zoom and flash mode, is also permitted. Features include a detachable LCD hood for LCD monitor, neutral buoyancy under water and a screw mount for converter lenses and filters. The camera's internal flash can be used underwater for direct illuminatior or to trigger a digital compatible slave strobe. All housings are equiped with a standard tripod socket permits attachment of lighting tray.
