Fantasea FD-80 and F400D underwater housings (16-02-2007)
Fantasea Line announced the release of the F400D and FD-80 waterproof camera housing dedicated exclusively to the Canon EOS 400D (Digital Rebel XTi) and Nikon D80 respectively. Together with the cameras, they offer an excellent combination of advanced underwater digital photography at an affordable price. Their interchangeable port system accommodates a wide variety of SLR lenses, allowing photographers to capture the widest variety of superior underwater images.
The camera “slides” into the housing on a specially designed tray. Once inside the housing the stainless steel latching buckles on the back door are snapped shut, sealing the system with a sound watertight seal.
The housing controls are made from stainless steel shafts and springs and are sealed by double O-rings. The control knobs and buttons are made of sturdy molded polycarbonate. The F400D flash sync port is a six-pin type TTL connector, the FD-80 is equiped with a five-pin Nikonos type connector. Both housings will be available end of March 2007 at a suggested retail price of $1099 USD, that includes a standard port and pre-paid flood insurance policy from D.E.P.P. for one year.
