Fantasea FD-40X underwater housing for Nikon D60 (29-02-2008)
Fantasea Line is pleased to announce that the new Nikon entry level DSLR D60 camera, which was announced at the recent PMA show in Las Vegas, is compatible with Fantasea's FD-40X housing. The FD-40X housing is rated to a depth of 200 feet (60m). The main seal between front and back halves is a gasket seal. The lens port attaches with a double O-ring seal for double protection.
The camera “slides” into the FD-40X housing on a specially designed tray. Once inside the housing the stainless steel latching buckles on the back door are snapped shut, sealing the system with a sound watertight seal. The housing controls are made from stainless steel shafts and springs and are sealed by double O-rings as is the housing port. The FD-40X flash sync port is a five-pin Nikonos type system which allows for full TTL coverage especially when using the Fantasea FSB800 Flash housing for the Nikon SB 800 Flash.
The Nikon D60 is designed to simplify camera operation and allow the photographer to concentrate on taking pictures. The camera's simple, user-friendly design includes a reduced number of buttons and a combined monitor and information display. A 2.5-inch LCD screen presents information using an easy to understand graphic user interface, with three types of presentation style to suit all users. The symbols and numbers in the display rotate through 90 degrees, presenting information in the correct orientation according to how the camera is being held.
Due to the longer and improved 18-55mm VR Zoom lens, the FD-40X lens port allows for zoom extension 18-50mm with the D60 camera.
