Olympus PT-045, PT-046 and PT-047 housings (10-01-2009)When the action moves from the beach to the water, your Olympus digital camera needn't be left behind. They have added three new underwater housings to their collection: the PT-045, PT-046 and PT-047.
The PT-045 underwater housing has been specially customised for the Stylus/Mju TOUGH 8000, a 12 megapixel camera. The TOUGH-8000, is hard as nails and perfect for those who want to push things to their limits. The camera itself is waterproof to 10m, shockproof to falls from up to 2m, freezeproof down to temperatures as low as -10°C and crushproof to weights of up to 100kg!
The PT-046 is designed for the new FE-3010 camera, which boasts an impressive 12 Megapixels, more than enough to guarantee perfect poster sized prints. The tiny metal FE-3010 features a 3x optical zoom (36-108mm), Intelligent Auto Mode and Advanced Face Detection Technology, as well as Digital Image Stabilisation to reduce blur caused by 'camera shake'.
The PT-047 is for the TOUGH 6000, this fellow newcomer to the TOUGH 8000 is no wimp either. It has a 10 megapixel resolution, and as well as being freezeproof, this camera is waterproof to 3m and impervious to drops from up to 1.5m. These new housings are waterproof up to a water pressure equivalent to a depth of 40 meters and are perfect for fascinating underwater photography or capturing the thrill of water sports and activities. With their durable, high quality polycarbonate construction, they protect the camera from water while also cushioning it from knocks and bumps on land. Complete control of photo functions, such as zoom and flash mode, is also permitted.
Features include a detachable LCD hood for LCD monitor, neutral buoyancy under water and a screw mount for converter lenses and filters. The camera's internal flash can be used underwater for direct illuminatior or to trigger a digital compatible slave strobe. The housings are equiped with a standard tripod socket permits attachment of lighting tray.
