Sea & Sea YS-90DX Diffuser

The Sea&Sea YS-90DX digital slave strobe comes standard with a white plastic diffuser cap. It is however not possible to combine this one with the optional sync-cord holder. Because the diffuser is useful for some applications (e.g. macro photography), some DIY is required to combine the two:

Cutting the diffuser The diffuser plate can be cut out from the surrounding holder with a snarp knife. Make sure you cut it in parallel to the plate's surface, as the remaining edge is required to keep it in place.

Optic-cable holder with diffuser The cut-out can now be placed on the strobe with the holder of the optic-cable on top. Do not remove the holder underwater as the diffuser plate will then float off.
